Buluhmas ordered to stop recruiting members - NST

2008/10/15 - TANJUNG KARANG: Buluhmas Sdn Bhd has been ordered to suspend its recruitment of members and payment of commissions to promoters for three months.

The company that markets and distributes products from more than 700 small- and medium-sized companies nationwide may continue its other operations as usual.

Buluhmas is under investigation by Bank Negara for allegedly taking illegal deposits and running what looks like a get-rich-quick scheme.

Company secretary Abu Bakar Hassan said the order came into effect after Buluhmas and three other companies -- Jazmeen (M) Sdn Bhd, Noradz Travel and Services Sdn Bhd and Eastana Farm Industries Sdn Bhd -- were raided on Monday.

"We hope investigations are completed quickly because the owners of small businesses and industries depend on us," said Abu Bakar yesterday at the company headquarters.
